The title to this beat is pretty self explanatory, It's a House/ Hip-Hop/ R&B track. Produced by someone from the "TOWN" (Oakland, California), MR.ROBINSON. I originally made this for my sister, she asked for a fast "dance type" beat (120BPM atleast). Its in the Air as of now, I don't really know what I'm going to do with this beat. She writes something to it, I write something to it, I sell it... Options. I made this beat around the end of may, 2009. This beat was made with my Akai MPC 1000 (Drums), Open Labs Miko (Synths). I mixed it with Pro Tools 8, which reminds me allot of Logic, and Cubase, especially the new Midi editor window. Im not going to lie to you I could not stand Pro-Tools 7.4!! Which lead to me buying Apple's Logic Studio (I feel the best purchase I've made as a producer). I noticed using Pro Tools on an Apple system is allot better than working on PC, depends on the system though. Anyway... After making the beat using the MPC as the sequencer, I connected the outs from both the MPC and MIKO to my audio interface. Midi IN/OUT, had a template ready on Pro-Tools, input BPM, and record!(Blah, Blah, Blah,)

I am currently writing the lyrics for this beat, the title of this song is “Bay Rules”. I came up with the hook or chorus before making this beat. Usually after coming up with the chorus or hook I would then proceed to write the verse’s, This situation was different, I made the beat after coming up with the chorus/ hook. Good thing I did because the two bar drum solo (if you will…) before every verse sounds pretty damn good! Given the current “Trick’n” movement started in the south is pretty much the status-quo. You aint gotta ask “Dru Down” and “N2Deep” to know thats not the “California Lifestyle”. Being from Oakland, “Land of the pimp’s”, a place who’s motto is “Pay Me”! Being from the Bay Area, where you work for money not women, I think its a shame there are young cats with things going for them to play by the old and desperate tactics. If you “cashin-out” (paying someone) the person you wanna be with, most likely he or she wanna be with your money (You got women Tricks too)!! Two of the biggest no-no’s in the Bay Area, Snitching, and Tricking. The Town don’t get down with none of that, I have never seen a strip club in Oakland. Oakland N@##a’s would not know how to handle themselves… Around all that money, and naked women! Yea buddy, too hood to trick!

I liked working on this song! I was just practicing making quality beats in less than an hour. I finished this beat in 56 minutes… O.K. at best. It sounds good so check it out! I chopped Jay-Z’s “99 problems”, and added the rest. This beat was done exclusively with Apple’s Logic Studio, EXS-24 sampler not MPC. MacBook’s are going make MPC’s obsolete! Im thinking about selling mine…

I started this beat the same day as this years NFL draft (2009). It was a beautiful day in the Bay, “Saturday the 26th”! “Yea”, this is the year the RAIDERS go three years with out making a B.S. pick! I just knew we were going to get Texas Tech’s Michael Crabtree! Boy was I wrong… Some cat named “Heyward- Bey”, I thought “Hayward- Bay”… If you been to Hayward you would probably hate like I do. So I didn’t like the dude instantly because of his name, and it wasn’t Crabtree! Disgusted with Al Davis and the whole Oakland RAIDER front office, I decided to make a beat to no think about my city never ever winning a Super Bowl in my life time! I began the Chorus/ “Hook”, and never finished it until a couple of days ago. I went through all of my computers that I make beats on (any with DAWS). I started deleting files I no longer used or needed, and stumbled upon this beat. I liked it, So I finished it! I love my team and my city but, If the RAIDERS left today or tomorrow, who would care?
